LEGENDS
An introduction tells you what someone does. A longer conversation gives you a chance to understand how they think.
In October, Legends brought investors together in Singapore and Dubai for three private dinners. Singapore opened the series on 8 October. Dubai followed on 14 and 15 October, with different groups around the table on each evening.
The settings changed, but the purpose stayed consistent: give people enough context to recognise a relevant connection and enough time to explore it.
Singapore: different perspectives around one table
Our Singapore dinner brought together people with experience across venture capital, family offices, real estate, private credit, M&A and technology, alongside other markets and sectors.
Some brought decades in institutional finance. Others had built funds, investment firms and platforms of their own. That breadth gave the evening its character, bringing different ways of thinking about investment into the same room.
The evening began with introductions and an Asks & Gives round. Guests had space to explain what they invest in, what they are exploring and where their experience could be useful to others.
That context gives a conversation somewhere to start. A shared interest becomes easier to recognise when you understand what someone is working towards, rather than knowing only their role or the market they operate in.
Dinner then leaves time to go further, ask another question and understand the experience behind an answer.
Dubai, 14 October: beyond the introduction
The series continued in Dubai on 14 October, bringing a new group together for another private evening.
Introductions gave guests a sense of the people around them. The Asks & Gives round brought current interests into view, before dinner opened up space for longer conversations.
The value of a smaller table is the time it allows. People can explain the context behind a question, listen to a different perspective and return to something mentioned earlier.
For investors working across markets, that opportunity matters. Relevant experience does not always come from someone with the same background. Sometimes the reason to continue a conversation becomes clear only once both people have had time to explain how they see a question.
Dubai, 15 October: a different group, the same approach
The following evening welcomed nine investors during SuperReturn Middle East week.
With a different group around the table, the evening brought another combination of experience and interests. The format remained familiar: introductions, space to share what people were looking for and able to offer, followed by open conversation over dinner.
Alongside a busy investment calendar, a private dinner offers time to focus on a smaller group. Everyone has the opportunity to introduce themselves, hear who else is at the table and explore where their interests might connect.
Two evenings in Dubai allowed us to bring different people together while keeping that personal scale.
What makes a shared table worthwhile
Legends10 is built around a table of up to ten investors, each reviewed personally.
At that scale, there is room to get beyond the first introduction. Guests can understand what someone is focused on now, where their experience comes from and whether there is a meaningful reason to stay in touch.
The structure at the beginning helps people find their bearings. The time afterwards lets them decide which conversations deserve more attention.
That is what we want to make easier at Legends: bringing relevant people together and creating space for relationships to develop. What follows belongs to the people involved.
