LEGENDS
New York was in the middle of ILPA Summit week when we got together on 4 November for the fourth Legends10 private investor dinner. With so much happening across the city that week, it was good to set aside a whole evening for one table.
It was a lively dinner. The conversation covered plenty of ground, and there were many first introductions around the table. For us, that was one of the best parts of the evening: bringing together investors whose paths might not otherwise have crossed, and giving them enough time to get to know each other over dinner.
That’s how we approach each Legends10 evening. We start by thinking about who would be interesting to bring together in that city. Once everyone sits down, the evening is theirs to make of it what they will. By the end of our night in New York, there were a few more familiar faces in a city full of new ones.
Four dinners in
Each city brings a different mix of people to Legends10. We keep the tables small so everyone has room to take part and there’s time to follow a conversation wherever it goes. With a limited number of evenings on the calendar, places tend to fill quickly. The scale of the dinner is something we want to keep as the series grows.
